If the buying club is not interested in including a buy-back clause in the deal, it is reported that Liverpool’s asking price for Elliott would rise to $66 million. It is a clear sign that the club is not ready to give up on Elliott entirely and would like the option to potentially bring him back in the future, otherwise insisting on the buying club paying a higher price.
